A Reason To Cheer

We have mentioned this before. At times, these days, it would appear that the world is going to hell in a handbasket. Yet and still, things do occur that provide a reason for us to cheer. One of those things occurred just the other day. And it happened right here in the Mexican Caribbean, in one of its prime locations, Tulum.

Paul Moore, the Chairman and CEO of GigNet and Mark Carney, OBE, the Chief Business Development Officer of GigNet announced something truly special. Our company has finished adding 14 kilometers of fully redundant fiber-optic cable to the 200 kilometer cable already installed that can service the entire Mexican Caribbean. These 14 kilometers will be providing special ultra-high speed broad band WiFi service to a wide range of public and private facilities in Tulum, starting with the Town Hall. Covering virtually all of the important areas of Tulum, this new cable stretches all along the Tulum hotel zone and on to the entrance to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve.

Along the way it will provide dedicated service to institutions like the Military Covid-19 Unit, the Mexican Red Cross, the Police Station, the Community Hospital and a slew of restaurants, spas and other businesses. Now that the hospitality industry is in the process of opening up again with tourists expected to begin arriving soon – many hotels and other businesses here already have qualified for the special certifications of cleanliness and the implementation of anti-viral measures – Tulum will prove to be a special place in the region. It should be noted that access to GigNet’s fiber-optic cable broadband offers dedicated service, that is to say, the lines are not shared providing for maximum access 24/7 and around-the-clock monitoring in order to solve any problems that occur in minimal time.

Numerous public figures in Tulum have expressed their delight at the fact that their city will be the most advanced in all of Mexico in terms of modern telecommunications technology. Needless to say, Victor Mas Tah, Tulum’s Mayor was thrilled at the announcement as was Dr. Juan Noriega of the Tulum Hotel Association. Others, such as Eduardo Ruiz, a leading Tulum restaurateur and Mizraim Corpus, who heads up an agency that operates spas and other such facilities, also chimed in with high praise for GigNet.

It really is great to have something to cheer about in the midst of all of the disastrous things that are going on in the world at this time.
